When I met with Colleen and Joel, I could feel the warmth emulating from them as they described Joel’s home, at which they’d marry. Somehow, a venue with meaning makes it sparkle on a wedding day…and I could tell this would be such a place for Colleen and Joel. They told me about this big oak tree that centers the yard, and I got goosebumps at the thought of them returning to this tree year after year playing back the history they created. It’s so magical and meaningful, and I LOVE that they chose his family farm, “O double T homestead” to seal their vows.
Matching perfectly with their personalities, the ceremony was beautiful and laid back, and oh, did I mention beautiful? The back yard of the family home was filled with the most loved ones, and flowers fresh from the gardens that surrounded them. A beautiful breeze swept the field and the sun sat perfectly on the horizon. To top of the most beautiful setting was the most beautiful bride and groom, with a most beautiful love. They have a sweet, yet goofy love and are always making each other laugh. Avid sports fan, Joel even incorporated a fist bump BEFORE the first kiss as man and wife. They shared a love that is evident to everyone that surrounded them, and fit perfectly together.
Colleen and Joel chose to do a first look before their ceremony, which I LOVE. It gives the bride and groom a private moment to settle their nerves and revel in the moment. It also allows for a nice period of time to take nice relaxed pictures of the couple. And if I do say so myself–these two are SUAVE! Colleen and Joel, thank you for inviting me into your family on such a special day, and may you always go back to the big oak and feel the magic that we all felt when you were wed.
