Project Pinspiration: baby shadowbox

If you follow me on Facebook, you know that today my sweet girl’s 6 months.  And what a joy she has been, an undeniable love that grows infinite. I love her.

So, in the spirit of baby, I thought I’d share one of my creations inspired by Pintrest.  When Tessa was discharged from the NICU, we were sent home with a bag full of “Tessa’s Treasures,” (really, that is what the nurses wrote on the bag).  It was almost surreal to look at these things and think of where her little journey started, and its something we never want to forget or take for granted.  When I came across this ‘pin’ that I had pinned prior to her birth I knew I was going to have to do it!

{This photo didn’t have a working link on Pintrest}

Neither of these ‘pins’ had any sort of tutorial or anything, but that was okay. I just used them for inspiration really.  Luckily I already had a shadowbox (that is what the frame called that is used for these types of projects), so all I had to do what figure out how I wanted to place everything.  My husband laughs because he says I just disappeared for about a 1/2 hour and resubmerged with this awesome keepsake!   I didn’t have to buy a thing, I just grabbed a few pieces of paper from my scrapbooking collection, plugged in the hot-glue gun, and went to work!

Things to consider using:

Birth announcement

First outfit

First hat

Socks

Shoes

Wristbands

Footprints

First pacifier or bottle

Any hospital accouterments that indicate size i.e. blood pressure cuff etc.

Hope this inspires a creation for you!! Enjoy 🙂
